Elaine Houston
Elaine Houston is a positive psychology researcher and writer with a B.Sc. with honors in Behavioral Science.
For many years Elaine Houston worked with young people and adults in her local community where she learned to recognize and value the benefits of collaboration and strong social connections.
By empowering people to take individual and collective action and encouraging personal development, Elaine worked to bring about change by providing a range of opportunities for people to build and maintain relationships and become more involved in collaborative community activities.
With her knowledge of the issues and challenges facing her local community, Elaine went on to help ESOL adults become more independent by improving their language skills to build confidence, reduce isolation, and develop relationships.
Elaine began researching and writing for PositivePsychology.com in 2018 and splits her time between her small independent business and her love of writing, research, and psychology.

After growing up in Ireland, Elaine attended the University of Dundee, Scotland where she obtained a Bachelor of Science with honors in Behavioral Science.
In 2020 Elaine started with her MSc in Counselling at the University of Abertay, Dundee.
